Paul Hudson's Weather Blog

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulhudson/2011/01/coal-takes-the-strainagain.shtml

It's good to see this on a BBC site, since the BBC has in general seemed to be in love with wind turbines...

On this page of his blog, he highlights the dangers facing us if we close down our coal and gas power stations and rely too much on wind.

He quotes Professor Mike Lockwood at Reading University who thinks we may have colder winters more often in the near future. If his forecasts are correct, we will not only have colder winters, but less wind. Has anyone told Chris Huhne "we have a fantastic amount of resource in wind energy"), Nick Clegg, David Cameron and Ed Milliband ("...it is socially unacceptable to be against wind turbines") this?
