Wind turbine on fire
Thanks to Conservation for Upland Powys for finding this video of the turbine on fire in Scotland.
This Telegraph article - "1500 accidents and injuries on UK wind farms" - includes a quote from artist Angela Kelly, (featured on our website) Chairman of Country Guardian.
As mentioned on our page about the Fullabrook Down Wind Farm, many wind turbines are built far too close to roads, public footpaths and people's homes.
See more here:

Scroll down to the row of photographs below the heading March 23rd between Beara and Halsinger. for detailed information about the proximity of houses to these turbines at this wind farm. All the photographs taken on this and other pages of the Fullabrook turbines have been taken from public roads or footpaths, often very close to the turbines.

The Sunday Telegraph today
Chairman of Country Guardian, and artist on our website, Angela Kelly at the 2009 Nant y Moch protest, holding a poster designed by another of our artists, George West.
Angela is mentioned in this article by Robert Mendick and Edward Melnick in today's Sunday Telegraph.

We hear this is a two page article, so don't forget to buy the Sunday Telegraph, after you have looked at this online. There is also another excellent article by Christopher Booker: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/8713093/The-BBC-steadfastly-avoids-the-facts-about-the-wind-farm-scam.html.

March on Cardiff tomorrow

Mynydd y Gwair, from Lliw Reservoir, painted by David Bellamy at the 2005 Paint it while its there day in Wales.
David has this to say about tomorrow's event:
"Let's hope it will light the flame of resistance against these politicians who want to trash our landscapes for the benefit of the corporations. Never in living memory have I witnessed such governmental vandalism and total disregard for the feelings, lives and economic welfare of British country folk for so little.
Artists Against Wind Farms will be there in strength with Featured artists David Bellamy, Jenny Keal and Christine Lovelock, Featured photographer Tom Hutton, and of course, Angel;a Kelly, Chairman of Country Guardian. Also coming we hope is playwright Henry Lewis ("The Wind Thing".)
If any of the other artists who have shown work on our website come to Cardiff, please look out for us, we'd love to see you. Some of us will have placards so we hope we will be easy to spot. Most of all, of course, we all hope to show our support for everyone involved in the wonderful protest organised by Conservation of Upland Powys.

Save the D-Day Beaches
Lord of the dance, a watercolour by Angela Kelly
Please sign the international petition:
NO to windfarms off the D-Day beaches - go to http://www.epaw.org/ to sign the petition, and add your comment if you can.
This is the comment that Angela Kelly, artist and Chairman of Country Guardian, left after she had signed the petition:
"I am 82 years old and knew young men who went to fight in France including some who did not return. My late husband, an architect, was in the Royal Engineers and fought in the Battle of Caen. He cared deeply for the environment and was committed to the battle against industrial wind farms till he died in1999. An electricity supply that imposes great damage on the environment and its ecology, needs a secure back-up supply, but doesn't produce power when you need it is worse than useless. Shame on the French government that they don't respect the memory of the thousands who gave their lives. I continue to campaign. www.countryguardian.net"
